He was predeceased by: his parent J. T. Whitten; his wife JoAnn; his mother Lola B. Adcock Whitten; and his brothers, J. B. Whitten and Darrel Dean Whitten.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Isaacs, Steve Whitten (Julie), Tim Whitten and Deborah Westmoreland (Wes); his grandchildren, Amanda Castner (Joe), Rachel Obenhaus (Matt), Brock Parker (Amber), Laci Spencer (Jason), Dustin Whitten (Bianca) and Dakota Whitten; and his brothers, Rev. Ken Whitten and Rev. Doyce Whitten. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
