She was predeceased by: her husband B. O. Stephens (Short); her parents, Corbin Sweeney and Beulah Rhodes; and her sister Virginia Overbey. She is survived by: her daughters, Kathy Kinnick (Joe) and Susan Blakey (Marvin); her grandchildren, Joshua Kinnick (Nikki), Julie Burns (Russell), Mark Blakey (Gabrielle) and Nathan Blakey (Rachel); and her great grandchildren, Jaclyn, Jennah Kinnick, Brayden, Isabella Burns, Abigail, Issac and Eli Blakey.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:30 AM. A burial was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Wylie Cemetery (600 Masters Ave, Wylie, TX 75098).
