He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Anne Pearl Wiggins Eakin and Joe Cecil Eakin, Jr.; his wife Meriam Elder Eakin of Tyler; his children, Gretta Anne Eakin Sharp of Chandler and Joseph Elder Eakin of Tyler; his grandchildren, Dr. Gretta Marie Sharp (Kevin) of Houston, Jace Eakin of Fort Worth, MacKenzie Eakin of Tyler and Nikki Stark (Jeff) of Comanche; and his great grandchildren, Stella, Sterling, Mark, Emilee, Clara Grace and Creede.
