Wanda Nell Thornton Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wanda Nell Thornton of Mexia, Texas, who passed away on January 27, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Cleburn Prichard and Madell Prichard (Williams); her husband Joe Davis Thornton; her siblings, Fayrene Gilliam (Prichard), Chesley Dean Prichard and James Bernice Prichard; her son-in-law Robert Steely; and her granddaughter Bethany Chrstine Dunn.

She is survived by: her children, James Kelly Thornton (Dana), Deborah Diane Thornton and Donna Jo Steely; her grandchildren, Jeremy Glenn Logan (Melissa), Justin Gene Logan (Katie) and Jodi Rene DeCamp (Ryan); and her children, Jessi Lakay Thornton, Rebekah Brooke Riggleman, Emily Morgan Riggleman, Robert Slater Steely (Victoria) and Jonathon Elias Dunn. She is also survived by great grand children and one great, great grand son as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
