He was predeceased by: his father Wilford "Bud" Johansen. He is survived by: his mother Patricia Johansen; his wife Denise; his children, Ross and Charlotte (Harrison Duncan); his brother Eric; his mother-in-law Mitzi Gass; and his brother-in-law John Gass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Tee – West Texas or First Tee – Greater Houston.
