Janet Moore Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janet Moore in Midland, Texas, who passed away on October 18, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Toopie Wharton and Patty Wharton; and her sister Jean Ann. She is survived by: her children, James DeVillier, Janise DeVillier Black (Adam) and Joshua DeVillier (Amy); her stepchildren, Stacy Scott and Christopher McClleland; her grandchildren, Gatlin, Beau, Charlee and Jack; her siblings, Joanie St Romain (PJ), Lloyd Wharton (Deborah) and Ralph Wharton (Robin); and her pets, Sadie and Sassie.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (4321 Lake St, Lake Charles, LA 70605). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to SFS Equine Rescue & Animal Sanctuary in Lake Charles or St Jude's Hospitals — causes close to her heart.
