We announce the death of Melba Jean Sledge of Midland, Texas, who passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 92. Melba will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Hugh Parker and Dolly Mae Mabry Parker; her husband William Sledge; her son Stephen Sledge; her grandson Bryan Sledge; and her siblings, Randall Parker, Patsy Stuteville and Laura Nell Parker.
She is survived by: her children, William "Bill" Sledge III (Vickie) and Terri Johnston (Terry); her sisters, Betty Parisher, Sheila Bererra, Carrie Mae Parker and Annette McDonald; Sarah Sledge. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel (906 S Gregg St, Big Spring, TX 79721). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
