He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Santiaga Gutierrez and Salvador Ybarra; his wife Anita; and his daughter Delia Navarette. He is survived by: his children, Anna Baker of Sacramento, California, Sam Ybarra, Jr. (Leticia) of Palm Desert, California, John Ybarra (Carmen) of Bellflower, California and Marcos Ybarra (Gina) of Midland, Texas; and his son-in-law Frank Navarette of Glendora. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel (3800 N Big Spring St, Midland, TX 79705). A rosary was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 7:00 PM at the St. Stephen's Catholic Church (4601 Neely Ave, Midland, TX 79707). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Resthaven Memorial Park (4616 N Big Spring St, Midland, TX 79705).
