Harkness Jr. (Midland, Texas), born in Tampa, Florida, who passed away on March 21, 2024, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Wilbur E. Harkness and Blanche Mason Harkness; his wife Carolyn Harrod; his siblings, Alan W. Harkness and Helen Mraz; and his son Wilbur E. Harkness, III.

He is survived by : his children, Janet Lary (Milton) of Midland, TX and William L Harkness (Brenda) of Midland, TX.; his grandchildren, Matt Grett (Terri) of Canyon Lake, TX, Nathan Lary (RaShae) of May, TX, Kristin King (Jonathan) of Richardson, TX, Lauren Ivanhoe (Kolby) of Katy, TX, Brittney Cohorn (Patrick) of Midland, TX and Brooklyn Shumate (Brady) of Dallas, TX; and his great grandchildren, Chase Harris, Carson Grett, Tristin, Collins King, Callie, Aislyn, Cole Lary, Payton, Riley Ivanhoe, Halle, Graham, Annie Cohorn, Addie and Tucker Shumate.
