He is survived by: his wife Janet; his son John Layton Mezger (Melissa Lynn Mezger Koehler); his child-in-law Ashley; his grandchildren, Layton, Reese and Hudson; his great grandchild Melissa Lynn Mezger Koehler (Scott); his brother Bill Mezger; his niece Lacy Mezger Hart; his nephews, Matt Mezger and Will Mezger; his pets, Abby, Coco and Peaches; Samantha.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Midlothian Funeral Home (200 E Ave East, Midlothian, TX 76065). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Lampasas County 4-H.
