He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelma Irene Hall and Cavanaugh Farris; his brother Donald Gene Farris; his sons, Jimmy Glynn Farris Jr. and Mike Farris; and his grandson Kyle Mitchell Farris.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Farris; his sister Betty Jo Stevens; his son Mitch Farris; his grandchildren, Reygan Farris Richardson (Wess), Faith Farris and Riley Farris; and his great grandchild Tristan Richardson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Farris Memorial Scholarship Fund.
