He was predeceased by: his children, Jim Carruth and Brenda Lawler (Carruth); and his parents, Alva Carruth and Imogene Carruth (Hamrick). He is survived by: his children, Richard Carruth of Ponca City, OK, Mark Courtney (Laina) of Collinsville, OK, Tracy Courtney (Dawn) of Park City, KS, Melissa Rhea of Ottawa, KS, George Courtney (Jolene) of Millsap, TX, James Courtney (Mindy) of Blackwell, OK and Jacqueline Heller (Nathan) of Kansas City, KS. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers or a memorial service, his last wishes were for everyone to go fishing and have fun in his honor. Monetary donations in his name may be made to the Fishing for Good Foundation and will go towards sponsored fishing trip (s) for Veterans, Active Military and First Responders.
