He is survived by : his wife Sharon Thorson; his children, Scott Thorson, Kristen Lahey and Michelle Gailey; his children-in-law, Matthew Lahey and Lois August; and his grandchildren, Owen Lahey, Dylan Gailey and Oona Lahey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Uncle Allan was my favorite uncle of all time! Our visits every few years, at best, always left us with smiles on our faces and yearning for the next visit. I spent a wonderful summer, in high school, with the Thorsons. Uncle Allan made me laugh every day and helped me dig contact lenses lost down the drain. My mother was his older sister and she absolutely adored him. She loved his beautiful voice. Any time she had with him was so special. With Aunt Alice heaven is filled with a trio of music!”
