He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Amadeo Colunga and Oralia Serna; his wife Sylvia Brown Colunga; his sons, Jose G. Colunga, Jr., Carlos Colunga and George Colunga; and his siblings, Carolina, Martha, Thelma, Laly, Jorge, Juan, Sergio, Amadeo Jr., Mando and Mario. He was also cherished by 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
