He was predeceased by: his parents, Candida Fuentes Ortega and Estanislado "Mike" V. Ortega; and his siblings, Stanley Ortega, Lee Ortega, Rene Ortega (Master Electricians), Oscar Ortega, Reynaldo Ortega, Jackie Ortega, Alicia Perez and Ester Herrera.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda Ortega; his daughters, Marissa Gerlach (Scott) and Selinda Ortega; his grandsons, Kyle Russell Gerlach and Zachary Ryan Gerlach; and his siblings, Joel Ortega (Carmen), Jorge Ortega (Gloria) and Graciela Villarreal (Ismael).
