It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Henry Thomas Hammonds of Mount Pleasant, Texas, who passed away on February 23, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Thomas and Aileen Johnson Hammonds Henry; his wife Blenda Shaw Hammonds; and his brother Harry Glen "Butch" Hammonds. He is survived by: his daughter Karen; his son-in-law Randy Abernathy; his son Greg; his daughter-in-law Tonya Hammonds; his grandchildren, Will Abernathy, Thomas (Jessica Abernathy), Daryn Hammonds (Ashley Alcorn), Anna Hammonds and Noah Hammonds; his great grandchildren, Ava, Emma and Molly Abernathy; his siblings, David Hammonds, Gayle Boase and Louise Fudge; and his siblings-in-law, Terry, Patti Shaw and Michelle Wynn (Wayne Best). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
