He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfredo Mata Ruiz and Victoria Hernandez Silva; and his brother Miguel Mata. He is survived by: his wife Rosa María Mata; his children, Carlos Mata (Sabrina), Oscar Mata (Nayeli), Alan Mata (Cindy Garcia) and Karen Mata; his grandchildren, Isaias Mata, Camila Mata, Alan Mata, Jr., Cristian Mata and Victoria Mata; and his siblings, María Teresa Montiel Hernández, María Guadalupe Montiel Hernández, María Carolina Montiel Hernández, Armando Mata Hernández, Alfredo Mata Hernández, Mario Mata Hernández, Amet Mata Hernández, Claudia Mata Hernández and David Mata Hernández. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
