He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Wilson and Edith Wilson; and his grandson Andrew Wilson. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Wilson of Mount Pleasant; his children, Shannon Wilson of New Mexico, Robert Wilson (Robin) of Lumberton and Rebecca Deason (James) of Daingerfield, Texas.; his grandchildren, Connor Wilson (Elizabeth), Malia Gustin (Jacob), Randall Thurmon, Mikalah Stegall, Amelia Deason and Jake Wilson; and his great grandchild Kohen Vaughn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsburg.
