With sadness, we share the passing of Mack Hendrix of Mount Vernon, Texas. Mack, born on April 9, 1939, passed away on September 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Letha Ester Hendrix (Jaggers) and Buman Hendrix; his siblings, Rex Hendrix, G. B. Hendrix (Bud) and Pat Hendrix; his parents-in-law, Gus Gandy and Irene Gandy; and his sister-in-law Lou Gene Maxton.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Hendrix; his children, Greg Hendrix (Lori) and Susan Swarts (Alan); his grandchildren, Cheryl McCurdy (Russell), Heather Parkerson (JP), Samuel Hendrix (Alicia), Tabitha Whitt (Donnie) and Casey Swarts (Victoria); his great grandchildren, Logan Rogers, Aubrie Whitt, Connor McCurdy, Nate McCurdy, Brody McCurdy, Madison McCurdy, Hawke Parkerson, Hudson Whitt, Shae Parkerson, Millie Parkerson and Baby Boy Swarts; and his sister-in-law Margaret McGee. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home (409 N Kaufman St, Mt Vernon, TX 75457). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at the Macon Cemetery (391 County Rd SE 4150, Mt Pleasant, TX 75457).
