The family announces the passing of Tommy Phillips of Mount Vernon, Texas on October 6, 2026. Tommy, born on July 24, 1935, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Royce Hartwell Phillips and Ima Presley Phillips; and his sisters, Aletha Sue, Sue Sue, Frances, Bubbles and Joyce'Jo Jo'Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Phillips; his son Jay; his daughter-in-law Leslie Phillips; and his grandsons, Chase, Jaquelyn Phillips, John Wayne Phillips, Jayson Thomas, James Hartwell (Josie Belle Phillips), Colton (Savannah Phillips), Emmory Grace, Austin Blake, Chaney McCrae, Lynnie Mae Phillips, Caleb (Madelyn Phillips) and Judah Roy Phillips. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home (409 N Kaufman St, Mt Vernon, TX 75457). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in Tommy's name to Masonic Lodge scholarship fund or Hospice Plus Charity (more information will be provided at a later date).
