He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Lewis and Minnie Elizabeth Carpenter (Mowrey); and his siblings, Gertrude Carpenter, Bonnie Carpenter, Eva Dale Carpenter, Hazel Carpenter, Lloyd Carpenter, Harold Carpenter, Donnie Carpenter and Bob Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Frankie Pierce; and his sons, Jeffery Carpenter (Zanea) of Muleshoe, Joseph Carpenter (Janie) of Muleshoe and Jeremy Carpenter of Plainview, Texas. He is also survived by his three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
