He was predeceased by: his parents, Worder Yates and Esther Yates; his aunt Mary; and his uncle Buddy Schultz. He is survived by: his brother Murvel Yates; his sister-in-law Christeen Yates; his sister Linda Knepper Yates; and his uncle Dave. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Laird Funeral Home (2116 South St, Nacogdoches, TX 75964).
