He was predeceased by: his parents, Vertis Stephens and Charlene Reta Simmons; his significant other Sandra; and his siblings, Charles Whitaker, Donald Whitaker and Linda Baldwin.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Stephens, Mark Stephens of Nacogdoches and Brandi Irish of Maine; and his brothers, Gary Stephens (Brenda) and Steve Whitaker (Sharon). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
