She was predeceased by: her husband Gerry Hoover; her children, Scot Petty, Lisabeth Sturges and Suzy Hoover; her parents, Sam Johnson and Julia Johnson; her brothers, Vardemen Johnson, Mac Johnson and Ted Johnson; and her grandson Joshua Hensel.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Bobo (Randy) and Brad Petty (Julie); her sons-in-law, Mark Sturges, Dana Hensel (Steve) and Jimmy Hoover (Shawn); her sisters, Mattie Collins (Wayne) and Judy Baumann (Mike); her grandchildren, Stevey Hensel (Ashley), Cody McCrary, Michelle Bobo, Rebekah Jackson (Noah), Taylor Smith (David), Julia Watson (Dylan), Shelby Sturges, Ryan Bobo, Colton Petty (Shelby), Ethan Hoover (Sara), Yobana Hoglund (Michael), Emily Denney (Corey), Clayton Petty and Hunter Hoover; and her great grandchildren, Raven, Micah, Clara, Juliet, Otis, Hayes, Freddy, Wesley, Alexander, Lorelai, Violet, Emelia, Freya, Fritz, Broly and Henry. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Alazan Congregational Methodist Church (9508 FM 225, Nacogdoches, TX 75964). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
