He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Almany and Annie Almany; and his siblings, Earlene Baggett, Wanda Alexander, Eddie Glynn Lantrip, Harry Almany, Butch Almany and Earl Almany, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Blackstone Almany; his daughter Betsy Almany Toner; his son-in-law Shane of Nacogdoches; his daughter Samantha Almany Muller of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Shelby, Peyton Toner, Emily and Logan Muller; his sister Rita Kingrey; and his brother-in-law Larry (Patricia Almany). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Sammy Almany Memorial Scholarship fund, which will fund a scholarship for band students through the music department at Stephen F Austin State University.
