He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Earl Spies and Laverne Cade Spies; and his brother Charles Harris Spies (late Sherry). He is survived by: his cousins, Dallas and San Augustine; and his close friend Dorothy Franks Dornak (Dot) of Nacogdoches.
Stephen requested that no one send memorials of donations in his memory.
