Though Gene may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Welch and Dorothy Fern Martedant Welch; and his grandson Justin Welch. He is survived by: his wife Martha; his children, Mitch, Gayle Welch of New Hill, NC, Don, Luciann Welch of Nashville, AR and Kimberly (Dale Penny); and his sisters, Patricia Thomas of St. Louis, MO and Sharon Staley of Bolton, MA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
