She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Pelt and Nezzie Pelt; her sister Henrietta Pelt; and her grandson Timothy Gilbert. She is survived by: her children, John Gilbert (Marie) of Montgomery, Tommy Gilbert of Nederland and Gloria Busselle (Jeannie) of Nederland; her brothers, James Pelt of Port Arthur and Buddy Pelt (Dawn) of Lumberton; and her grandchildren, Wesley Gilbert of Houston, Christopher Busselle of Nederland, Lauren Anderson (Jared) of Montgomery, Heather Maxwell (Casey) of Nederland and Olivia Butler of Port Arthur. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
A memorial gathering was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home (4955 Pine St, Beaumont, TX 77703). A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (4955 Pine St, Beaumont, TX 77703).
