We bid farewell to Vera Mae Thurman of New Boston, Texas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 30, 2026 at the age of 88. Vera touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bert Spencer and Fern Shuler Spencer; her husband Dwaine Thurman; and her brother Bernard Spencer. She is survived by: her daughters, Naoma (Jerry McCartney) and Faye (Rick Atchley); her sisters, Alberta Catron of Bridgeport and Lola Walker of Ogalalla, Nebraska; her sister-in-law Frances Spencer; and her grandchildren, Justin McCartney (Heidi), Kristina Gomez (Mark), Blake Atchley (Shelby), Clay Atchley (Chasity) and Chad Atchley (Taylor). She is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
