He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Sherrill and Anna Sherrill; and his brother James Sherrill. He is survived by: his significant other Lynette; his son Steve Sherrill; his grandson Atticus O'Quinn; his pet Nutmeg; his father-in-law Raymond Schrader; his sisters-in-law, Jackalyn Schrader and Patricia Roseland (Samuel); and his nieces and nephews, Trenton Brown (Angel), Brandon Booth (Clarissa), Lane Booth, Taylor Bledsoe (Joseph) and Morgan Langlais.
