He is survived by: his children, Johnny Joe Salazar Sr. and Cristina Gutierrez; and his siblings, Concepcion Mata, Marcelino Mata Jr., Efrain Gutierrez, Richard Gutierrez and Cruzita Mata. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren; and his five great-grandchildren.
