He was predeceased by: his parents, T. J. Compton and Margaret Long (Clark); his sons, Jacob Compton and Eric Compton; his nephew David J. Mills; and his brother David Mills.
He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Sina Compton; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandon, Aidan and Sarah Compton; and his nieces, Katie Blalock and Lauren Dillon.
