She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Wayne Bayer (Gladys Aleene Scott Bayer) and Jesus. She is survived by: her husband Rex Townsend; her daughter Helen Darilek (Darby); her grandchildren, Cece, Colter and Camille; and her nieces and nephews, Brenda Hollis (Kenny), Patty Dent (Lee), Rex Blanding (Beverly), Athena Blanding, Leo Blanding (Sheila), Sheila Hilburn (Wes) and Cindy Allen (Jason). She is also survived by 12 great nieces and nephews; many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mountain Valley Funeral Home (3407 SW Wilshire Blvd, Joshua, TX 76058). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (590 NE Mcalister Rd, Burleson, TX 76028). A burial was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery.
