He is survived by: his wife Julie Garcia of Odem; his children, John Phillip Garcia of Odem, Amy Garcia (Modesta) of Austin, Brenda Aviles (Mario, Jr.) of Odem and Chanelle Veliz (Roel) of Odem; his siblings, Carlos Garcia of St. Paul, Jose Angel Garcia of Sinton, Jesusa Tovar of Sinton, Esperanza Cruz of Brazoria, Rosa Segovia of Freeport and Janie Lara of Odem; and his grandchildren, Isaiah, Kristine, Mia Bella, Luke, Gianna, Alaina, Elijah, Maleah Devin, Damian, Briela and Sebastian.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (307 W Turner St, Odem, TX 78370). Visitation was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A rosary was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 at 7:00 PM.
