It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eddie D. Jones of Odessa, Texas, born in Crane, Texas, who passed away on January 20, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Jones and Jessie Mae Jones; his sisters, Mary Ellen Douglas and Mary Jones; and his nephew Coury Joseph.

He is survived by: his wife Claudette Jones of Washington; his children, Dessirie Berry of Odessa, TX, Donelle Harris (Jerry) of Nashville, TN and Cedric Harris of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren, Deontrae Jones of Odessa, TX, Ronjanae DeGray of Houston, TX, Raeyana DeGray, Robert Thomas of Arlington, TX and Daviontie of Mexia, TX; his great grandchildren, Jamiere and Jada of Odessa, TX; his brother Roy Jones of West Minister, CA; and his sisters-in-law, Cheryl Jordan (David) of Houston, TX and Paula Wilburn of Odessa, TX. He is also survived by relatives, friends.

“Rest in paradise, my brother! Eddie D. was family to me. I remember like it was yesterday, he and goob, Roy Jones, we’re always coming by. I always thought of them as though they were my uncles. Eddie used to take us to the store whenever he came to visit. I had and still have nothing but the upmost respect and love for him. I thank God I have the opportunity to call a couple months ago and talk to him - to tell him I loved him and how he touched my life growing up. Rest now my brother!”
