He was predeceased by : his parents, Gregoria Tarango (Fuentes) and Manuel Tarango; and his daughter Lynne Tarango. He is survived by : his wife Catalina Tarango; his sons, Valentine Ramirez, Jose Tarango, Marcos Tarango, Joaquin Tarango and Hector Tarango; his stepchildren, Pablo Gutierrez, Hector Cano, Rudy Reyes and Yvette Cano; and his siblings, Abram Fuentez, Ascension Contreras, Felix Tarango, Raul Tarango and Guadalupe Tarango. He is also survived by 43 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
