She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Oscar Furlow and Mildred Furlow; her husband Pat Childress; her sister Portia Tillinghast; her granddaughter Kasha Grant; her children, Clay Childress (Lauren) and Kathy Childress Grant (Dusty Rogers); her grandchildren, Britt Childress (Merrida), Amber Childress Runyon (Lee), Portia Grant, Chambry Murdock and Patrick Grant; her great grandchildren, Evelyn, Abigail, Ivey Childress, Tucker, Cooper Murdock and Greyson Hennsley; and her siblings, Katherine Kniffen (John) and Bobby Joe Furlow (Linda). She was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews.
