He was predeceased by: his parents, George Russell Edwards Sr. and Julia Elizabeth Edwards (Barton); his wife Carma Louise McBroom; his son Lyndell Edwards of Webb City; and his siblings, Sybil Shavor, Evangeline Kidd, Nelda Tompkins and Malcolm Edwards of Malikoff.

He is survived by: his family East of Texas; his daughter Quilla Edwards of Olton; his children-in-law, Elaine Edwards of Webb City and Lonnie Cook; his grandchildren, Justin Edwards (Savannah) and Chasity Cook; his great grandchildren, Keegan (Erica), Logan, Karter, Navaeh and Evan; his siblings, George Russell Edwards Jr. of El Paso, Clovis Tompkins and Wynell Whorton of Edom Texas; and his sister-in-law Margaret McBroom Young of Buffalo.
