He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Bailey and Willie F. Bailey (Griffin); his wife Nora "Cat" Bailey; and his daughters, Joann Abbott and Cathy Hardee.
He is survived by: his daughter Linda Abernathy; his son-in-law Carl; his daughters, Nancy Bailey and Peggy Mullins; his son-in-law Dale Motsinger; his son Joe Bailey Jr.; and his daughter-in-law Cari. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.
