He was predeceased by: his parents, Brody Smith and Rose Smith; and his siblings, Margie Addison, Vernon Smith, Ruby Burleigh and James Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Alton Kendall (Teresa), Terrell Kendall, Stormye Smith, Michael Smith (Bonnie), Brody Smith and Phillip Smith; and his sister Letha Willett. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
