He was predeceased by: his wife Claire Covington; his grandson Brennan Covington; his father Bill Covington; Lucille Gager. He is survived by: his sons, Guy Covington (Karen) of Katy, Scott Covington of Sugarland and Russell Covington (Jennifer) of Orange, Texas.; his grandchildren, Katy Tinsley, Jonathan Covington, Jordan Covington, Katrina Avinger, Griffin Covington, Callie Covington, Jayne Covington and Lydia Covington; and his great grandchildren, Max, Charlie, JT, Piper, Cora, Merritt, Witten, Tucker, Miles and Luna.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in honor of Don Covington to Meals on Wheels America.

Don was one of the true pioneers of the offshore marine industry leaving a legacy of achievements . I was lucky to of known him.”
