He was preceded in death by his parents,
John V Armenta and Inocencia Armenta; his brothers, John Armenta Jr. and Peter Armenta.
He is survived by his wife, Lucretia Armenta; his children, Laurie Armenta, Jose Mendizabal Jr., Jacob Armenta, Melissa Armenta, Jesus Mendizabal, Eteinne Mendizabal, Mary Jones, Leon Mendizabal, and Lucretia Mendizabal;
his siblings, Alicia Contreras, Edward Armenta, and Virginia Hernandez;
his nine grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
