He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Evans and Maurine Smith Taylor; and his siblings, Annette Taylor and Travis Taylor (Bo). He is survived by: his sisters, Marie Crowder, Sally Everett Katrine Turner (Arthur Ray) and Elizabeth Taylor; his children, Jacques D. Evans (Darline), Roderick Neal (Porsha Goosby), Thomas Earl Evans Jr. (Candice English) and LaShesta Turner (Clyde); his grandchildren, Marquita Evans, Joshua Evans, Champaigne Evans, JaCory Neal, Jalyn Turner, Jordan Turner, Jaden Turner, Elijah "Bubba" Neal and Takema Darline Evans; and his great grandchildren, Jayla Evans, A'Miya Evans, Marli Evans and Ja'Kaizer Evans.
