He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Stapper and Ophelia Stapper; and his brother Leroy Stapper (Annie). He is survived by: his wife Margaret Scheel; and his sons, Jeffrey (Veronica), Reginald (Becky) and Carlon (Ann). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
