He is survived by: his children, Eric Messersmith (Tara) and Katy Messersmith Mattox (Marc); his friend Robbie Morris; his grandchildren, Ryland Messersmith, Adelynn Messersmith and Nash Mattox; and his great-nephew Bryan Messersmith. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.
