He was predeceased by: his parents, Vern Howard and Rose Howard (Caudle); his wife Glenda Hand; and his parents-in-law, Estelle and Preston Hand.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lynde Cheek (Ron) and Leanna Roseberry (Byron); his grandchildren, Bobby Ray Mayo (Cheyanne), Billy Ray Howard (Mary), Rose Howard (Preston), Courtney Roseberry and Kaylee Rae Roseberry; his great grandchildren, Braighlyn Mayo, Gracelyn Mayo, Shaelyn Mayo, Waylyn Mayo, Donnie Wardell, Sam "Sambo" Vickery and Adeline Rae Howard; his brothers, Raymond "Ray" Howard (Mary) and Johnny Howard (Diane); and his sisters-in-law, Reba Howard, Juanita Howard, Carol Best (David) and Gail Gibson (Bill). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
