She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Dowden and Eula Underwood; and her brother Melvin Dowden. She is survived by: her children, Sharon Aitken, Nicole Carroll (Roger), Whitney Echart (Nathan) and Clay Mitchell (Wende); her sibling Floretta West; and her grandchildren, Amy Trigg, Clay Carroll, Clint Carroll, Arielle Aitken, Edwardo Abihabib, Konnor Aitken, Justin Abihabib, Margot Abihabib, Kennedy Echart, Gracey Carroll, Addison Echart and Jace Carroll. She is also survived by her numerous great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Carroll Springs Cemetery (5810 County Rd 4600, Athens, TX 75752).
