He was predeceased by: his parents, George Tyrrell and Laura Pearl Tyrrell; his former wife Jean; his siblings, Bill, Carl Tyrrell and Vera Phillips; his son-in-law Craig Harvey; and his grandson Justin Harvey.

He is survived by: his spouse Lavena Mae Treat of Laverne, Oklahoma.; his children, Mona Milam (Bob) of Cisco, Gary Tyrrell (Sherry) of Pampa, Kathy Harvey of Woodward, Jo Karbo (Kent) of Pampa and Teri Cree (Kevin) of Pampa; his grandchildren, Mandy Archibald, Tyler Milam, Kacey Hulin, Kiaran Beck, Travis Harvey, Landon Karbo, Logan Karbo, Chase Cree and John Cree; Don and Brenda Morrison. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
