He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert William and Annie Irene Link Ward. He is survived by: his wife Esther Ward; and his children, Christopher Ward, Nathan Ward, Josh Ward, JJ Cortez, Leon Garza and Angela Garza. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and numerous brothers, sisters.
