He was predeceased by: his parents, Millie Lee West Tarpley and Cecil Tarpley; his wife Helen Tarpley; and his daughter-in-law Terri Tarpley. He is survived by: his children, Tommy Tarpley, Jr. (Linda) of Amarillo, Roy Tarpley of Panhandle, Pam Walker (Gary) of Amarillo, Janet Wilson (John) of Childress and Betty May (Troy) of Kerrville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and seven great- great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Panhandle Cemetery (1000 E 6th St, Panhandle, TX 79068).
In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to BSA Hospice of the Southwest.
